That’s Mr. Bathing Ape to you!

I have never been a huge fan of BAPE, the brand synonymous with the original ape like celebrity, Ian Brown. However, their new collection is certainly doing a lot to help change my mind. Mr. Bathing Ape is a sideline project between BAPE and Japanese retailer United Arrows, with the focus on creating pieces for the gent with a bit of a swagger by taking classic tailoring and giving it a slight shake up. Think of it as BAPE’s more responsible, career driven older brother.
This collection is inspired by the evergreen styling of Saville Row, where BAPE founder Nigo has spent time learning the trade. A recurring theme throughout is the use of the moustache logo, which is seen on the Oxford shirts and the beautiful penny loafers.
Pictures are from the summer/summer 2011 look-book, which sees the staff from the flagship United Arrows &SON store in Harajuku serving as the models for the collection.
